Outfit of the Week (OOTW) from Sunday

I was pretty excited to have a casual Sunday because I got to plan my outfit around a birthday present... this awesome stripey bag that was on my Etsy favorites list. Hurray for sneaky birthday shoppers who know to look at Etsy favorites for shopping!

 

The bag traveled to Illinois from Turkey. No kidding! And fast. The biggest tip-off that it came with love from Turkey? Seller sineminugur safety pinned an evil eye bead on it as a little gift. In the Turkish culture, the blue glass evil eye bead (called a nazar boncuk) gives protection and brings good luck to all! Super sweet addition, right?

Here is the outfit of the week that I built around this bag. Since the bag is exuberant and loud, I kept the outfit fairly subdued.
