I'd mentioned to my husband that as far as I'm concerned, homemade art is the perfect birthday gift from my son. While he "helped" James get me a couple other great gifts, he also made sure to make an art gift happen. He enlisted one of James's fabulous aunts, who is a talented artist herself, to help. How adorable is this?
Fingerpaint footprints made the wings, with thumbprint antennae and hand-drawn (by my husband) permanent marker bodies and smiles. Super cute, right? I've hung these up in our walk-in-closet, with is our repository for our most personal art.
And James came home with the leftover fingerpaints, which led to some fingerpainting fun yesterday. First, he made a thank you piece of art for his aunt. Then an, okay, kind of ugly-ish rendition for his grandma. The joy of making art!
Fingerpainting is a contact sport. Let's see those hands, James!
This is only the start of the art fun in our home. I simply can't wait for the days of play-doh and crayons!
